I am a total sucker for a good vegan cookbook, so when I was approached about giving CEVD a try, I didn’t even hesitate to snatch it up. There are a lot of dietary restrictions within my extended family, so the fact that this cookbook is both gluten-free *and* dairy-free was a huge win for me. I can make any dessert in this book and serve it at our family gatherings and everyone will be able to eat it. My mom, sisters, niece, dog-nephew, and I had our annual girls weekend recently, and we decided we needed to try out a couple of the recipes ASAP. We started with the Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake. Our verdict: BLISS! Then we made the Banana Peanut Butter Cookies To Share With Your Pup. Our verdict: tasted just like a peanut butter oatmeal cookie. Fraggle’s verdict: GIMME MORE! To anyone looking for a new vegan, gluten free, dairy free cookbook, I highly recommend Crazy Easy Vegan Desserts by Heather Staffer. The recipes are really truly tasty and the “easy” label is legit. (The cookies we shared with the pup had 4 ingredients and 3 steps. That’s it!) My family is already expecting to see the cheesecake make another appearance ASAP.
