I have had the great honor to have traveled and dined in some of the greatest culinary spots on this planet. And, I’m ready to share them with you. After a little bio, I offer valuable information (in layman’s terms) on: “How to Taste” and the “Preparation of Food and Wine”. The next section is about the food – lots of insightful information regarding the major food groups and how they relate to wine. Next, it’s about the wine. I offer material that connects the different grape varieties with different food categories. Then, we pair them up. We offer over 630 foods with the perfect matching wine and an alternative (when needed) to wines that might be hard to find. Finally, a glossary of wine terms that will help explain the lingo. About the Author

My name is Vincent Senatore. I was born in Brooklyn, New York to a couple of second generation Italians. While both of my Italian parents were born in Brooklyn, all of my grandparents and their immediate relatives were right off the boat from Italy and Sicily. While there were no great chefs or wine experts in the family, our giant family gatherings formed the basis for my love of food and the art of matching flavors, aromas, tastes, and textures with beverages that enhance the overall experience in fine dining. My 39 years in the wine industry has given me the opportunity to see food and wine in a different light. I was lucky enough to be part of some of the best marketing and Sales companies in America. After spending 4 years in Palm Beach, Florida, I landed my first executive position with Seagram’s special wine division, Chateau and Estates. C&E had the finest portfolio of French Bordeaux wine in the country. Then I spent a number of years with a company called Vintage Wine Merchants dealing in 10 of the best properties in California. During the mid to late 80s, California wine was really starting to become a major player in the retail and restaurant arena, and I was right in the middle of it. I absolutely loved that time. However, it was the 90s that brought the real substance to my education and understanding of food and wine. While representing a number of wonderful wineries from Italy and spending countless hours in the vineyards, I really learned how important food and wine were to a culture. Their lives were centered on the afternoon and evening meals. It would be fair to say that I have been extremely fortunate to have experienced some of the finest cuisine the world has to offer, and I thank God that I joined the wine industry, which put the exclamation point next to the word “Gourmet.”
