“Everything you need to know about hydroponics and then some! George Van Patten is the author. Need I say more? The book is written in layman’s terms and is complete with illustrations and photos. A necessity for all indoor gardeners!” –.”For over twenty years, Gardening Indoors has been considered ‘The Bible’ of indoor growing. It is literally a one stop gardening encyclopedia of information for both the beginner to the very experienced gardener. If I was to buy only one book on indoor gardening, this would be the one.” –.
I am just starting into Hydroponics for the first time. I will grow some hot pepper plants indoors. I had read a lot of different info on the web and did learn a little. But almost all the info I could find was about growing pot! Growing vegetables is just not the same, yes captain obvious here. I wish I had found this book first however, as it would have saved me a lot of hunting and wasted time. It is a very complete and organized source of information on this subject. It explained lighting very well and without it I would not have been able to do this. He explains how to figure out how much light you need and how to provide it. I wanted to use fluorescent lighting and could not find any detailed info on the subject. This book covers the entire subject of indoor gardening and not just lighting. He covers growing in dirt or hydroponics. I would highly recommend this book to anyone starting a garden indoors for the first time. Or if you have tried to grow vegetables inside and just did not do very well.
This is my favorite book. It has intensely detailed and fill of photos. A genuine master wrote it. You can’t go wrong with this author and book. The book was almost as described by the seller, and is in good enough condition that I’mkeeping it.
Being an empiricist by nature, this book should be considered a must have for any hydroponics endeavour. The book is well laid out and extremely well illustrated. The chapters are short and to the point and offer insight into how to solve issues, not engage in some esoteric discussion of which calcium is better. While there is some discussion of that bature it is kept to a minimum and only brough up when really neccessary. For the most part I use the book as a reference and get the info I need rather than attempting to read it from cover to cover. Using this approach allows me to solve issues and problems, not thumb through the book looking for something I have nearly forgotten or missinterpreted from the beginning. Definately worth the money and with the super saver shipping and the three for special I got all three for less than the retail price of each one, Good score!!!!
