Went through Indian Super Foods in one sitting – made for delightful reading! A gem, yet again, from the author. If you don’t have an Indian Grandmother to point you in the right direction, Rujuta’s book comes a close second.
She does take it a notch higher by backing the age old traditional food patterns in an Indian kitchen with scientific analysis.
Also, the book couldn’t have been better timed. What with new ‘studies’ about foods and supplements being published everyday, the book helps by separating the wheat from the chaff. Everyday nutrition is no longer to be pondered over but simply followed, especially for Indians, because of a pre-existing familiarity. And for those unfamiliar with certain ingredients, the book still makes for absorbing reading because of its philosophy and approach towards a more natural, local, nutritionally fulfilled living.
Have been a fan of Rujuta Diwekar since her first book ‘Don’t lose your mind, lose your weight’. Looks like I will continue to remain one.
