I really enjoyed all the history and background for the trail cooking. I gave a western theme party and it was a great help!
Well-written and researched book with recipes that will take you on the trail with the cowboys. I’ve tried several of the recipes in the book with great success. Not just a “cookbook” but a slice of Old West history as well. Excellent resource for any fan of the Old West era.
This reads like history of cowboy chuck wagon cooking starting from the first cattle drives. Lots of stories of people in the golden cowboy time with chuck wagon recipes to go along with the stories.
