I’ll never forget my first taste of real, Italian gelato. Soon after I was married, I was fortunate enough to travel for several weeks across Europe with my husband and our close friends. Our first night in Italy comprised of a gondola ride, pizza margherita, and two scoops of the most decadent coconut gelato I have ever eaten. Since then, I’ve had more than my fair share of the frozen delight, and make it a point to sample new and exciting flavors whenever I find myself in any Italian city. As research, of course! Since beginning my food blog three years ago, I have experimented at great lengths with ice creams, sorbets and gelatos in my own kitchen, and have loved the results. Everything from the simplest granitas, to fresh sorbets, to decadent ice creams, and of course, gelato, have been included in this book, as well as special chapters for vegans and those requiring sugar-free recipes. You’ll also find wonderful ice cream cakes, pies, and other spectacular frozen desserts here too! I have a Cuisinart Pure Indulgence Ice Cream maker, and was looking for some different recipes for it. This book is wonderfully informative, and has some wonderful recipes. It’s very versatile, and has recipes for ice cream (both regular and sugar-free,) gelato, frozen yogurt, sorbet, sherbet, granitas, etc. There aren’t any illustrations, but it doesn’t detract from it’s charm. There are very detailed explanations, which make it easy for anyone to use. I definitely recommend this wonderful book!
I can only have ice cream made with Splenda. I truly love French vanilla that must be cooked with eggs and creme. Well no matter your health needs there is a easy and fun recipe for everyone. I bought this for my wife and this poor machine has been running every other day for months. Just pour in your killer flavor recipe choose what machine you are using. The book rightfully boast 200s of sorbets, shurberts, Gelatos, yogurts to the richest creamiest guilt ridden ice creams.
Not your average chocolate, vanilla and strawberry recipes. Many tasty and delicious recipes for gelatos and custards, as well as ice cream. There are even vegan ice creams. Great book.
