I happened to see this lady on Dr. Oz, which I never watch since I work during the day. I have been looking to see why my sense of smell was still so strong and narrowed it down to hormones being off. That is why I got this book. Little did I know it would completely get my IBS under control like nothing, nothing ever has. Yes, it takes while to read it. Then, based off what you get for your scores, you have to create your own plan. But I got my numbers, ordered my supplements off Amazon, and within days I was feeling so much better. It has helped my inflammation, my anxiety, and my IBS. I am off all prescription pills I was on for all those. Not only that, but for the first time in years, I am not cold all the time. I still take my thyroid meds, and will just because it takes so long to find the right dose, but for years, I was cold all the time. Not any more. My metabolism is kicking in. As for losing weight, I really don’t care if I do or not since I have gotten all the above. But, I have. Just by being able to deal with my IBS, I can actually get out and run like I used to. This book was life changing for me. If you really want to feel good and think your hormones have anything to do with it, buy this book! It helped my arthritis, my thyroid, my anxiety, and my IBS. If it would have helped only one of those, I would have praised it. Take the time to go through the book and rate yourself. If this could have been rated 100 stars, I would have rated it so. And it did help my sense of smell not be so overwhelming, leading to my IBS acting up.

After having my son, I have tried a lot to lose my pregnacy weight. For over two years, I have tried to lose the weight and without any success ( I would lose some weight and it came back on and even a little more). When I came accross this book, it was interesting that all your bodily functions are from your hormones and what you eat has a lot to do with how your hormones function. Before I started this program, I was always very fatigued and never seem to have enough energy to get through the day. It didn’t matter how much I slept. I could sleep for 10 to 11 hours and at times, it wasn’t enough and I still needed more. I did the detox and right away I could feel a difference in my energy level. Found out that I was intolerent to gluten and allergic to any type of milk products. (Finding out about allergy to milk was from another source. Dr. Turner assumes in her book that you will know if your allergic, but this is one area that I believe she needs to address a little better since I did not know that I had milk allergies – for that matter, allergies to any type of foods) Once I stopped consuming these products, I noticed VERY BIG change in my energy level. It was like I was 20 years younger again and had so much energy that I could match my son’s activity level (but not quit). My feet were no longer painful when I got up in the mornings to walk to the bathroom and no longer feeling like a zoombie. I have followed her suggestions on the supplements and they do make a big difference. I try to get the brands she recommends and so far they are helping in a major way. I don’t suffer as much from the monthly cycle. I used to get migrain headaches for 3 to 4 days straight, but now its just a headache. What a difference!! The exercise regiment that she recommended seemed a little to boring, so I purchased Barry’s Bootcamp and enjoy the resistance training. Now I’m doing the 30 day fitness part and hope to lose some more pounds. I’ve lost over 12 pounds so far and have kept it off – even when I had to go “off” for a while during the Summer time. One thing about the meals is that your not limited to 3 ounces of meat and her recipes are good tasting, though some I didn’t care for as it was not to my taste. When your young, you can eat what you want, but as you get older, it all adds up and your food intolerences and allergies start to kick in. Even if your not or don’t believe you have any food issues, there are other issues at hand such as stress, sleep, mood, weight loss, and many other issues that revolve around hormones that control how you feel and act.

Last year I went on a very restrictive diet (Medifast), and over the course of 9 months I lost 85 lbs. I went off the diet, and while I was continuing to eat right and exercise I began to steadily gain the weight back. I tried everything I could think of, including going back on the Medifast diet program only to have it no longer work for me. At the same time I was going into a depression, was tired all the time, my hair looked dry and horrible mo matter what conditioner I used (my mom is a hair stylist so I tried EVERYTHING professional I could get my hands on!), my motivation was gone, and I began to feel totally hopeless. Eventually I figured out that I must have a thyroid problem, caused in part by the 800 calorie a day diet, mixed with all the soy from the diet. In the search for gaining my health back, I found this book. The author knows what she is talking about. The info in this book is very close to recommendations from my doctor, and she goes further into suppliments to help every hormonal condition including high cortisol, low adrenals, thyroid issues, and so much more. She also has a really great plan for reducing stress, naturally cleansing the body of toxins, and exercising better, not harder. All in all, I have found this book to be very, very helpful and supportive for my needs. Although I am now on Armour Thyroid medication which has helped so much (my hair is finally shiny and soft again!), I was still searching for a good, healthy all around diet to follow that is not going to starve me and put me back into dealing with the slow metabolism issue I caused, but will still allow me to lose weight and balance my body and that is in this book. Highly recommended with down to earth information that everyone can benefit from.
