China’s National Health Commission (NHC) released a to its Standard for Uses of Additives in Food Contact Materials and Articles (GB 9685-2016, FPF reported) for public comment on February 13, 2023. According to the draft, additives approved for use in rubber are now also allowed for use in silicone rubber. A further correction is made about the specific migration limit of 5-Isobenzofurancarbonyl chloride, 1,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-, polymer with 4,4′-methylenebis[benzenamine]. Furthermore, three new categories of specific migration limits are added as described within Keller and Heckman’s recent and corresponding to the on plastic food contact materials (FPF reported).
